Mayor Jennings Provides
Recycling Bins to Two of Albany’s Public Schools
Albany,
NY - In an effort to promote recycling efforts among the City of Albany’s
youth, Mayor Jennings, in concert with the Department of General Services, has
authorized the provision of City recycling bins to be used at Sheridan
Preparatory Academy and Philip Livingston Magnet Academy.
Upon reviewing the request made by school personnel,
Mayor Jennings was receptive to providing assistance to encourage the
“greening” of two school buildings.
According to Mayor Jennings, “The City of Albany remains committed to
supporting environmental responsibility.
Therefore, asking our students and staff members to assist in easy-to-do
recycling efforts is certainly setting a positive example for the entire
community. I applaud the leadership in
each of these schools, and I am hopeful that all buildings will ultimately want
to participate.” A total of 60 blue bins
have been distributed. A private waste
management firm is responsible for the collection of the materials.
