In 2007, in a public referendum, the voters authorized the library to borrow $29.1 million to build or renovate the 5 branch locations: the renovation and expansion of the Pine Hills and Howe Branches, the relocation of the Delaware Branch to a larger space and new buildings in the New Scotland and Arbor Hill/West Hill neighborhoods. Valuable input from the community helped shaped the Branch Improvement Plan and input is still being sought in the design process. The Plan is proceeding on schedule and will be completed in 2009.
