The City has completed its mailing of the 2016 property tax bills.

If you received a tax bill in the mail recently from the City of Albany, that means your property tax bill has not yet been paid for 2016.  You may check the status of your property tax payment, view current amount owed, print and/or pay your property tax bill here: (payment by credit card or direct transfer from your checking account accepted; fees apply).

All property taxes are due and, if mailed, must be postmarked by December 31, 2016 to avoid initiation of the foreclosure process by Albany City and County. Under New York State law, penalties MUST be added if a payment is late under all circumstances, and municipalities have no discretion to waive the interest added for late payments.

Please note that 2017 tax bills will be mailed by December 31, 2016 and should arrive in mailboxes by January 10, 2017.  Please do not contact the Treasurer’s Office until after January 10 if you have not yet received your 2017 tax bill.

The City of Albany is now able to directly e-mail copies of tax bills and receipts. Anyone who would like an e-copy of their 2016 tax bill or receipt can submit their information below to receive a copy as soon as possible.
