CITIZEN POLICE ACADEMY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
On behalf of Mayor Jerry Jennings and Chief Steven Krokoff, we invite citizens to apply to the Albany Citizen Police Academy. Applications are being accepted for the Citizen Police Academy, scheduled to start in the spring of 2012. The fourteenth-week course will continue on subsequent Thursday evenings. Classes will meet from 6pm to 9pm.
Albany's Citizen Police Academy is a unique opportunity for citizens who live in or work in Albany. The goal of the Academy is to increase understanding between citizens and police through education. Through the weekly classes, the police will hope to dispel suspicions and misconceptions and increase rapport between the citizens and the police. The citizens, in turn, make the officers more aware of their feelings and concerns.
Anyone interested in applying for this class should complete an application and submit it by US mail, email or fax.
