Traffic Safety

The Traffic Safety Division provides a wide variety of services within the Special Operations Unit. The main priority of the unit is to reduce motor vehicle and pedestrian accidents through education and enforcement of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.

Officers assigned to the Traffic Safety Division are trained specifically in accident investigations and reconstruction, radar and DWI enforcement, and auto theft and fraud.

Additionally certified instructors from the Traffic Safety Division provide specific traffic related training to officers within the department as well as numerous outside agencies.
