School Liason Officers

School Liaison Officers are assigned to Hackett, Livingston and Albany High Schools. On a daily basis, the School officers take reports and initiate investigations of crimes in their assigned schools and they work directly with the Children and Family Services Unit. The school officers visit other elementary and private / parochial schools to make safety presentations, including Halloween Safety and Step Away for Safety / Stranger Abduction prevention. After - school visitations and meetings are also part of their duties, as well as patrolling the school dismissal corridors.

The school officers frequently participate in field trips.

As part of the SLO program, daily communication is maintained with the head of the Albany City Schools Security, in order to keep informed about events, incidents, etc., throughout the School District.
