Information Coordination UnitThe unit maintains a reporting database that can display information for wanted people. This information is supplied to all Patrol Officers and Detectives to assist in identifying wanted individuals from the APD and outside agencies. The unit also utilizes the database to offer officer safety bulletins and other unusual incident. Information obtained from the Statistical Unit Supervisor is maintained and disseminated via an internal website and e-mail network to all officers and detectives. The goal is to inform the members of the department with real time information on major crimes, pattern crimes and crime trends. This is part in an on-going effort to lower the crime rate and ultimately make the City of Albany safer for the residents and visitors. Statistical Unit SupervisorCollect, analysis and disseminate various forms of data and information. Supply the Chief and Command Staff with the current trends and crime patterns that assist in the day to day planning for the department to combat crime. Geographic Information System CoordinatorUtilizes the information from the Statistical Unit Supervisor to map the crime patterns, trends and locations. Works with all city Agencies to assist in their mapping needs.
