         RECYCLING COLLECTION

The City of Albany collects recycling material that was generated from residential dwellings with (4) or fewer units located on a single property. Recycling is collected curbside once a week on the designated waste collection and recycling day. Recycling should be placed curbside, no earlier than 7pm or dusk, which ever comes first, the evening prior to the collection day.

The City of Albany provides each resident with two (2) recycling containers a “Blue Bin” and a “Green Bin” at no charge. The blue bin is for glass, metal cans and plastic containers. The green bin is for all types of paper and cardboard including shredded paper. NOTE: Residents who do not generate enough paper to warrant using a green bin may place all of their recycling in the blue bin.

Recycling Bins are available, free of charge, at the Department of General Services facility on Erie Blvd Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Call DGS at (518) 434-2489 for directions.
