SEFCU

In October 2003 Major Gerald D. Jennings and officials from State Employee Federal Credit Union (SEFCU) and Albany Community Development Agency (ACDA) announced the signing of a letter of intent for SEFCU to establish a branch office at 388 Clinton Ave.

The purpose of the effort was to develop a consensus on actions to revitalize the Arbor Hill neighborhood. A key area of focus in the plan was business and job development to serve and employ residents.

Accordingly, in Spring 2004, the SEFCU Arbor Hill Branch opened a full branch service and it currently occupies approximately 1700 sq./ft. of a building managed by the ACDA.

Furthermore, SEFCU Arbor Hill branch currently has more than 4,000 members from Arbor Hill, West Hill and North Albany. In addition, the branch has generated over 16 million dollars in loans throughout the community.

This project represents the power of public and private entities working together to effectuate real change in the City of Albany.
