Parking Permit

The City of Albany is currently upgrading its Residential Parking Permit system and expects this to be completed by mid-March. As a result, Parking Permits that were due to expire on February 15 will be extended until such time as the upgrade is completed and residents have the opportunity to renew their parking permits for 2017.
If you are a current parking permit holder (2016-2017) and would like to add a visitor to your parking permit you may continue to sign into your account here until the completion of the Residential Parking Permit System upgrade.
Renewal letters for 2017-2018 were issued on February 3-6, 2017, containing information pertaining to the upgrade in the Residential Parking Permit System. If you do not receive a renewal letter by February 21, 2017, please visit the City Clerk’s Office to obtain a letter. If any information has changed please bring documentation regarding the changes from last year. If you have moved or changed information, you must visit the City Clerk's Office in person (see below for the necessary documentation) to ensure that your vehicle is properly permitted. If your information has not changed, you can renew online as indicated in the renewal letter you will receive, or in person at the City Treasurers Office (with the accompanying letter only). New this year, in order to renew online you must have a renewal code which residents and business owners will receive with their renewal letter.
Please note that up until the completion of the Residential Parking Permit System upgrade, your 2016-2017 parking permit will be extended (even if you renew for 2017-2018). If you would like to add a visitor to your parking permit, sign into your account here, then submit the required information. If you would like to know any information regarding your 2016-2017 parking permits or should you have questions please feel free to contact the City Clerk’s Office at (518) 434-5090.
The City Clerk’s Office is currently accepting NEW applications daily, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The form of payment is cash or check ONLY; no credit/bank/debit cards will be accepted. Please note that a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of residency are necessary at the time of application.
Please note, in future years residential parking permits will continue to expire on February 15 of the following year as they have in previous years.
