Ward 11 - Hon. Judd Krasher
Born in Albany and raised in the Capital Region, Judd has always had a deep affinity for New York's Capital City and the people who live here. Judd's grandparents, natives of Russia and Poland, came to Albany in the mid 1900s. He quickly realized that Albany is a place of amazing diversity and ideas.
After graduating from The State University at Albany, Judd worked for both houses of the New York State Legislature for over five years. During that time, he founded the Lower Central Avenue Neighborhood Association. The idea was to reinvigorate a once thriving section of Albany and that spurred him to seek public office.
A proud progressive, Judd has committed himself to working tirelessly for the the working families of the 11th Ward. While Judd knows all of the wonder Albany has to offer, he also realizes that there are many challenges to be met. From vacant buildings, high property taxes, affordable housing, the City's finances, to crime, Judd knows there is much work to be done and he has rolled up his sleeves to make Albany blossom.
His approach to governing is built around Albany's motto, "assiduity," not giving up until the job is done.
Constituents are very much encouraged to reach out to Judd for any concerns or ideas they have. Judd is adamant that he listens to those he represents, is attentive to their needs and keeps his constituents engaged in their local government.
